Dave was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma and grew up in Texas, Florida and California. Dave attended California State University, Fullerton and graduated in 1975 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. He started his public accounting career with Ernst, Ernst Arthur & Young in Anchorage, Alaska. Dave joined GBP&B in 1977 and became a principal in 1980. He has expertise in taxation for individuals, partnerships and corporations. Dave specializes in tax planning for complex real estate transactions, estate planning and compliance, and related areas. Dave is a member of AICPA and CalCPA. He has also been involved in Rotary and his local 4H chapter.

Away from the Office:
Dave enjoys traveling, camping, road and mountain biking. He also loves fishing and hunting but can’t seem to find enough time to fit it all in.
A devout Christian, his favorite book is the Bible, but enjoys all types of reading. He is currently reading a book entitled Desperado which is a history of the crimes committed in California in the 1850's and 1860's.
Dave and his wife show and breed Greater Swiss Mountain dogs.
Some of Dave's favorite quotes include a humorous one, spoken by Steve Martin in the movie Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, "It is better to be good than to not." All jokes aside, one that did stand out in his mind came from a pastor who once told him, "Trials and tribulations are inevitable. Suffering is optional.". This was immediately following an injury to Dave's popped Achilles tendon right in the middle of tax season!

Professional Influences, Ideas and Advice:
Dave understands that no two clients are the same and each client brings with them different needs and goals. He excels at one-on-one interaction with clients and takes a personal interest in each client’s situation so he can analyze and identify the most effective individual solutions.
GBP&B has always been more than just a group of business associates and Dave is quick to point out that it’s much more like a family.
Dave advises future accountants to be committed to the career and work hard because accounting is more than a job, it’s a career and a way of life.
