NEWS AND EVENTSBOE Letter | 02.01.10The legistlature has enacted strict new registration and filing requirements for business with gross income of $100,000 or more. If you have received a letter from the California Board of Equalization (BOE) requesting contact information, you could be registered as a use tax payer. Whether you provided that information or not, the BOE registered your business because they believe you meet the $100,000 requirement. Once you are registered, the BOE will send you an account number and login information so that you can e-file your returns. If this has occurred, you must file a Use Tax Return on or before April 15, 2010 to pay any use tax on any out-of-state purchases during 2009. You will have a filing requirement even if no amounts are due. If you have any questions or need assistance complying with these new filing requirements, please contact our office.
